A physician turned journalist, he played a central role in the politics of the Third Republic, particularly amid the end of the First World War. Written by George James Adam, a a Scottish preacher, scholar, and biographer. From the library of Christopher Foyle, a British philanthropist and the chairman of the famous Foyle's Bookshop in London. In the original quarter crushed morocco with marbled boards. Externally, very smart with light rubbing to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound.
