WE BUY & SELL BOOKS.

WELCOME to Le Flaneur, a second-hand bookstore specializing foremost in books that "survive the test of time": Literature, humanities and sciences in several languages including English, Dutch, Turkish, German and French, along with a number of select books in Latin languages. \\\\ WINTER HOURS: 11:00--18:00. Sundays we start at 13:00. Heavy or constant rain may also affect opening hours. \\\\ Please don't forget to check your JUNK MAIL folder, I always respond in 24 hours.

Le Flaneur prefers and strives to remain as a physical establishment rather than an online seller, and its loyalty lies with frequenters and chance visitors. Thus, in principle, books are cheaper in the shop, and a select and increasing part of the collection is not available for distance selling. Le Flaneur also recommends to buy local, physical, and loyal, since he believes every act including the act of buying (or not buying for that matter) is political which deserves consideration and reflection.

Books you inquire and/or order are reserved up to a week and then relisted. Orders can be picked up from the shop, preferably with prior notice.

We accept card and cash payments in the shop; paypal and bank transfers for online orders.

We send worldwide if we really have to, but we encourage you base your decisions on total costs including "externalities", rather than jumping to the cheapest option, since it never is.

There is no clear legal global rule for returns; but as a rule of thumb we don't accept returns, as we abstain from engaging any discussion over the vague and incredibly personal concept of satisfaction, and from contributing to needless entropy in personal and universal levels. We believe in goodwill and presume people has the potential to act responsibly and reasonably. If you think what you received fails to match its description, you keep the book and get your money back.

A note on description: Page numbers indicate numbered pages. Please always keep in mind the age of books when checking book conditions. Books are thoroughly checked and depicted in as much detail as possible (thus the shorter the depiction, the better the book). If there is no depiction, which is the case with some of the earliest additions, please ask before ordering. Also feel free to ask for photos when in doubt.

We also BUY "worthy titles" for which you cannot find room at home. Literature, history and philosophy titles in several languages are most welcome.

SHIPPING RATES
Within New Zealand (per order/ parcel) NZ $10.00 tracked parcel post or courier. Rural Delivery surcharge is extra if required for your address location.
Australia NZD $20 to $40 by weight under 1kg.
Anywhere else NZD $40 to $60 by weight under 1kg.
HEAVY ORDERS.
These will incur extra fees if weight over 1kg.
TERMS OF SALE
-Buyer is responsible for any import duties, customs fees or regulatory paperwork etc.
-Payment in advance of shipping by Paypal (includes credit card), Bank Transfer, or cash locally. International Bank Transfers accepted with NZ $12 bank fee added to invoice, for orders of NZD $250 or more then this fee is waived. For New Zealand buyers we request direct bank deposit only please.
INSURANCE
-Insurance included in postal charge.
RETURNS POLICY
-Books received which are markedly different from the description, or damaged in transit, may be returned within 7 days locally or 30 days internationally for a full refund of the book cost, less shipping, after prior agreement with the seller. Please make no returns until we have agreed on a remedy to the situation.
-All orders shipped by air mail with up to 4-6 weeks to international destinations outside New Zealand. Prices in New Zealand Dollars.

All books are in good condition, unless otherwise stated. Negligible defects, which can be considered normal for antiquarian books, are not always mentioned. Prices are in Euro and excl. postage and encashment costs. Despatch will be executed at the best possible way, generally by standard post parcels. Air shipment, registration or insurance only with client's consent. Shipment is at seller's risk.
Payments into our bank account. Orders per e-mail, telephone or regular mail will be executed in sequence of arrival. The customer will receive a statement on the available books. Books that do not match our description can be returned within a week after receipt and after previous consent. Despatch only by prepayment.
Returns for other reasons also after previous consultation and within a week after receipt. Books remain our property until full payment is received. For payments from abroad, please contact Gamander.

Alle boeken zijn in goede staat, tenzij anders aangegeven. Kleinere onvolkomenheden, die als gewoon voor een antiquarisch boek kunnen worden beschouwd, worden niet altijd genoemd.
Prijzen zijn in Euro, excl. verzend- en bankkosten (indien van toepassing). Verzending geschiedt voor rekening van cliënt op zo voordelig mogelijke wijze, meestal per (pakket)post. Luchtpostverzending, verzekeren en aantekenen uitsluitend op aanvraag van de klant. Verkoper behoudt zich het recht voor de goederen op kosten van koper te verzekeren en/of aangetekend te verzenden. Verzending is voor risico van verkoper
Bestellingen kunnen schriftelijk, via e-mail of telefoon worden geplaatst en worden op volgorde van binnenkomst afgehandeld.
U ontvangt zo spoedig mogelijk een opgave van de beschikbaarheid van de boeken en de kosten. Levering geschiedt in principe bij vooruitbetaling. Betaling per bankoverschrijving. Boeken die niet aan de beschrijving voldoen kunnen binnen een week na ontvangst en na voorafgaand overleg worden geretourneerd. Retourzendingen om andere redenen eveneens na voorafgaand overleg en binnen een week na ontvangst. Boeken blijven ons eigendom tot volledige betaling is ontvangen. Voor betaling vanuit het buitenland verzoeken wij u contact op te nemen.

Full payment must be made prior to shipment. Methods of payment accepted:
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, check/money order in US dollars only; currency in either dollars, euros, or pounds.
Shipping for the average book is $7.50 within the USA and $50 outside the US. Oversized books, multi-volume sets or other unusual items will cost more. Priority/expedited shipping is available and starts at $15 within the USA.

Return policy;
Items are returnable within ten days of receipt with advance notification. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
