If ordering from within the UK the cost is likely to be about GBP5.50, and books will usually arrive in 1-3 working days.
If ordering from Europe airmail will be about GBP12.00 - airmail will usually arrive in 3-7 days.
If ordering from North America, or anywhere outside Europe, airmail is likely to cost about GBP18.00 - airmail generally takes about a week, but customs may cause delays.

Books are sent by the next available postal collection following receipt of payment. We send mail most week days.

Government Printing Office, 1888. Second Issue. Hardcover. Green cloth binding with gilt edges. All are second issues besides Part 2 Vol.1 which is a first issue. Profuse color plates and photographic reproductions throughout the 6 volumes. Bonus inclusion is a short breakdown of all the different reproduction methods used to produce the plates. Of the medical history v. 1 and 2 were prepared by J.J. Woodward, 1870-79; v. 3, by Charles Smart, 1888. v. 1 contains also an appendix with reports of medical directors and other documents by J.J. Woodward and George A. Otis, with separate title page and pagination. Of the surgical history v. 1 and 2 were prepared by George A. Otis, 1870-76; v. 3, by G.A. Otis and D.L. Huntington, 1883./ Vol. 3 of the surgical history is first issued. There is also a "second issue" of the same date./ Includes bibliographical references and indexes. Fair. Only Ex-lib markings are stickers inside the paste down on the rear board. Sold as a utility copy only, Won't win any beauty contests. Most of the boards are either fairly loose at the joints, or just barely hanging on. All boards have bumping at the corners and some degree of loss to the cloth along the bottom edge. Bindings on Pt. 2 V. 2 are in particularly bad condition with the boards near detached in both front and back, there is also some damp staining to the top third of the front board although no signs of mold or mildew. Pt. 3 V. 2 front board is completely detached and dangling in the rear and cloth spine has some tearing at the tail. Sown binding is also rather loose, with more than a few pages shaken out, but still present. Tipped in plates are all present although some have shaken loose and many of the glassine protectors have been ripped out or otherwise damaged.

Books are sold net plus a min. $7.99 s&h. Typically, my books are heavier or larger than standard books, and most orders ship at cost + $4 for handling and supplies. I use the United States Post Office for all my shipping. I extend 10% trade discount.
I accept cash, money orders, PAYPAL, VISA, Mastercard, Discover as methods of payment. I also trade on occasion. I am able to extend credit to those institutions which desire to sell or trade duplicates and discards but are not allowed or able to accept cash payments for such material.
Books may be returned if not as described providing they enter the return mail-stream within seven (7) days of arrival and rejection by the customer. Booklets 16 pages and less are not returnable for any reason. Books returned to me outside of these conditions will not be refunded and will not be returned to the original purchaser until the same s&h charges that were originally charged are paid again to facilitate such return. This has only been an issues three times in 19 years, however.
Also, I maintain want lists in these areas, and conduct searches for any title my customers seek, whether in my field of expertise of not. I buy and sell collections and libraries of books in the topic areas listed above and offer collection development service. Books are available for viewing by appointment.
