Originally written as a sketch, this poem was recast using the influence of poets Aldrich had been studying, chiefly the dramatists of the Elizabethan era, although the story is set at a later date. Pp.80, illustrated sepia bookplate(?) "The Poems of T.B.Aldrich" loosely enclosed. Cream spine with green cloth boards, gilt title and decoration to front and spine, spine rubbed and soiled, corners bumped. G+.
