WE BUY & SELL BOOKS.

WELCOME to Le Flaneur, a second-hand bookstore specializing foremost in books that "survive the test of time": Literature, humanities and sciences in several languages including English, Dutch, Turkish, German and French, along with a number of select books in Latin languages. \\\\ WINTER HOURS: 11:00--18:00. Sundays we start at 13:00. Heavy or constant rain may also affect opening hours. \\\\ Please don't forget to check your JUNK MAIL folder, I always respond in 24 hours.

Le Flaneur prefers and strives to remain as a physical establishment rather than an online seller, and its loyalty lies with frequenters and chance visitors. Thus, in principle, books are cheaper in the shop, and a select and increasing part of the collection is not available for distance selling. Le Flaneur also recommends to buy local, physical, and loyal, since he believes every act including the act of buying (or not buying for that matter) is political which deserves consideration and reflection.

Books you inquire and/or order are reserved up to a week and then relisted. Orders can be picked up from the shop, preferably with prior notice.

We accept card and cash payments in the shop; paypal and bank transfers for online orders.

We send worldwide if we really have to, but we encourage you base your decisions on total costs including "externalities", rather than jumping to the cheapest option, since it never is.

There is no clear legal global rule for returns; but as a rule of thumb we don't accept returns, as we abstain from engaging any discussion over the vague and incredibly personal concept of satisfaction, and from contributing to needless entropy in personal and universal levels. We believe in goodwill and presume people has the potential to act responsibly and reasonably. If you think what you received fails to match its description, you keep the book and get your money back.

A note on description: Page numbers indicate numbered pages. Please always keep in mind the age of books when checking book conditions. Books are thoroughly checked and depicted in as much detail as possible (thus the shorter the depiction, the better the book). If there is no depiction, which is the case with some of the earliest additions, please ask before ordering. Also feel free to ask for photos when in doubt.

We also BUY "worthy titles" for which you cannot find room at home. Literature, history and philosophy titles in several languages are most welcome.

Postage and packing will be charged at cost. UK parcels will be sent first class post or Parcelforce 48-hour delivery if over 1.5 kilos. International orders will be sent by airmail unless otherwise instructed. Any book may be return within 7 days, if found not as described.

We accept payment by cheque, Visa or Mastercard. A charge of £6 will be applied to payments via Bank Transfer. American Dollar cheques are accepted on prior arrangement.

We offer a no-quibble returns policy as long as books are returned within 7 days of receipt and you have contacted us before returning. If the reason for return is our error we will credit return postage.

We accept payment by VISA, Mastercard, Switch, Delta, JCB, or Solo cards. UK customers may also pay by Postal Order or cheque payable to The Glass Key or by PayPal (to glasskey@3-c.coop).

Overseas customers may also pay by Sterling Bank Cheque, PayPal, International Money Order or Direct Bank Transfer.
We also have a French bank account and can accept payment by direct transfer in Euros if this is more convenient – please ask for details.

Books will be sent first class in the UK and by airmail overseas unless alternative delivery methods are requested. Postage is charged at cost.

Verkoopvoorwaarden

Alle boeken zijn compleet en de conditie van het boek wordt als volgt aan geduid:
Gaaf = als nieuw;
Zeer goed = geen noemenswaardige gebreken, ook geen naam op schutblad;
Goed = lichte gebreken zoals: minimale leesvouwen, lichte beschadiging omslag, verkleuring, naam op schutblad etc.;
Redelijk = duidelijk gelezen en gebruikt exemplaar: vouwen, onderstreping, schuingelezen, ezelsoren, etc.

Alle conditionele gebreken worden altijd beschreven.

Prijzen zijn netto, in euro en exclusief porto.

Geleverde boeken blijven eigendom van de verkoper totdat volledige betaling van het factuurbedrag heeft plaats gevonden.

Het verzenden van de bestelde boeken is voor risico van de verkoper.

Elke aankoop kan binnen 14 dagen na ontvangst, zonder opgaaf van reden, aan verkoper retour gezonden worden. Wel dient u aan Antiqbook door te geven dat u een zending retour zendt, waarna restitutie van het aankoopbedrag (niet de verzendkosten) volgt. Is de retourzending een gevolg van een onvolledige beschrijving dan wordt het aankoopbedrag inclusief verzendkosten en retourporto terugbetaald. Retourzendingen dienen verkoper te bereiken in dezelfde staat als waarin ze aan koper verzonden werden. Het risico van retourzendingen is nadrukkelijk voor de afzender.

Payment methods: bank transfer or Paypal. Sending cash by mail (for risk of the buyer) is also possible. We can not accept creditcards.
All books are in good condition, unless otherwise stated. Minor defects like stamps on the endsheat or a few underlinings are not always mentioned. Prices are in Euro and inclusive of VAT. Orders should normally be paid in advance, in other cases they have to be paid within two weeks of deliverance. Risk of shipment is for the seller. Seller is (after consultation with the buyer) entitled to ensure the goods or send them by certified mail. Costs will be for the buyer.
Orders can be returned within seven days (preferably announced by e-mail) for refund of purchase price (shipment costs excluded). Books have to be returned in condition sent. The risk of return shipment is for the buyer.

Alle boeken zijn in goede staat tenzij anders vermeld. Kleine onvolkomenheden, zoals stempels op schutblad en enkele onderstrepingen, zijn niet in alle gevallen vermeld.
Prijzen zijn netto, in euro en inclusief btw. Bestellingen moeten standaard vooraf betaald worden. In andere gevallen dient betaling te geschieden binnen 14 dagen na ontvangst van de factuur.
Het verzenden van de bestelde boeken is voor risico van de verkoper. Verkoper behoudt zich, na overleg, het recht voor de goederen te verzekeren en/of aangetekend te verzenden. De kosten hieruit voortvloeiend worden doorberekend aan de koper. We accept orders by mail, telephone, or e-mail. All items are offered subject to prior sale.
Prices are in Euro. No VAT is charged extra. Postage and bank costs are charged extra.
Payment can be done by bank transfer, VISA, Mastercard and Paypal (costs are charged if any).
Books are sent by surface mail (unless we are instructed otherwise, or if the books exceed 200 euros worth) upon receipt of payment.
Confirmed orders are reserved for 30 days. If payment is not received within that period, we are in liberty to sell those items to other customers.
Return policy: Books may be returned within 14 days, provided we are notified in advance and that the books are well packed and still in good condition. Refund of book price(not of postage, unless our description was wrong).

Wij rekenen geen BTW, maar wel verzendkosten.
Betalingen kunnen geschieden op onze Nederlandse bankrekening.
De boeken worden gelijk na betaling verstuurd. Bevestigde orders worden één maand gereserveerd, geschied de betaling niet binnen deze periode dan behouden wij ons het recht om dezelfde titel(s) aan andere klanten te verkopen.
Boeken mogen binnen 14 dagen na ontvangst worden teruggestuurd, mits onbeschadigd en goed verpakt. Porto altijd op kosten van de koper, behalve als de beschrijving niet adequaat was.

Conditions de Vente

Nous prenons les commandes par courrier, téléphone ou email. Tous les articles sont proposés sous réserve de disponibilité (notamment dans le cas d'une vente antérieure).
Prix en Euros. La TVA ne s'applique pas. Frais d'expédition et frais bancaires non inclus.
Paiement de préférence par virement bancaire ou cheque (sans frais).
Retour possible dans les 14 jours. Possibilité également de régler par VISA, Mastercard et Paypal (avec un supplément de 4% du montant total de la commande).

Items may be returned for credit or refund within ten days of receipt.
All orders are subject to prior sale.
We accept checks and all major credit cards.
Sales tax will be added to New York State residents.
All US-orders will be shipped via DHL Ground unless otherwise requested. We charge $ 7.50 for the first book and $ 4.50 for each following one for domestic shipping and handling. An additional charge may apply for oversized books and insurance. International orders will be shipped at cost via United States Postal Service or FedEx if requested.
