No dust-wrapper. Owner name neatly inside. The Assimil language learning approach initiated by Alphonse Cherél first appeared in 1929 with 'Anglais Sans Peine'. The methodology was an early example based on using records alongside the textbook. Assimil's recognisable stylised logo depicts a long-playing record.

Whilst on HMS Alert, Coppinger collected botanical specimens from Magellan Straits landfalls, Tahiti, Fiji, Australia, the Torres Strait Islands, Singapore, and the Seychelles, in addition to gathering extensive zoological collections.Illustrated with sixteen plates, and a small number of vignette illustrations. Collated, complete.With the blind stamp of Joesph A. Sadony to the head of the title page. Sadony was a philosopher and spiritualist, known for briefly working for Theodore Roosevelt, and his eighty acre estate, named 'The Valley of the Pines', in rural Michigan. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with fading to back strip. Hinges starting, with boards holding firm. Internally, firmly bound.
