The very scarce volume LXXXV of architectural periodical 'The Building News and Engineering Journal', with this volume covering each issue published between July and December, 1903.Founded in 1854, this publication was published under several titles during its history, appearing under this name from 1863 onwards, until 1926 when it was merged with 'The Architect', forming 'The Architect and Building News&apos.These issues are illustrated throughout, featuring attractive engravings of building facades and interiors, and a wealth of impressively detailed technical diagrams and architectural plans.With one hundred and twenty five plates, many of which are double page, and a further twenty six folding plates.Amongst the fascinating architectural locations discussed and illustrated with plates of architectural plans are a number of plans of Liverpool Cathedral, the Hammersmith Central Library, hospitals in Glasgow and Bedford, and the Blackpool Technical school.With numerous contemporary advertisements throughout. In a half calf binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, a prior owner has attached masking tape to joints. Loss to back strip tail, and rubbing to board extremities.
