This poetical anthology was compiled by Mirza Khusraw Baig Gurji (1790-1860), who was captured as an infant during the conquest of Tiflis in 1795 by Aqa Muhammad Khan Qajar. Raised in Iran and later adopted by the Talpur ruler of Sind, Mirza Khusraw became a distinguished man of letters.
