The first UK edition of this work. In the publisher's original cloth binding, blind-stamped to the front board.This charming volume provides recipes for many classic cocktails as well as guidance on the technique and skills of mixology. Cocktails include a Manhattan, martini, whisky sour, old fashioned and absinthe frappe. Although published anonymously, this work is credited by many to American poet Frederic Lawrence Knowles. With a contemporary ink inscription of a Manhattan recipe made by the previous owner to the rear free endpaper. In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. A couple small marks to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. With scattered spotting throughout, heavily concentrated to the endpapers and pastedowns. Ownership bookplate tipped in to the front free endpaper.
