This military expedition was a campaign during the American Revolutionary War against Loyalists and the four Amerindian nations of Iroquois which had sided with the British. This historical and somewhat biographical work was prepared by Frederick Cook, the secretary of state at the time of publication. With five maps to the folding pockets at the pastedowns. Numerous folding plans and plates throughout. Collated, complete. The first edition of this work. Scarce in a complete condition. As well as an account of the expedition itself, this work has a section devoted to centennial celebrations of the campaign. In a full cloth binding with gilt stamping to spine. Externally, sound with slight rubbing to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Patches of damp staining to the boards and spine. Hinges are extremely tender with cords showing. front endpapers have detached. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned to edges and clean throughout. Fair . Ill.: None. Fair .
