Comprising personal memoirs, extracts from family documents and diaries. Written by Evelyn Philip Shirley, a British politician, antiquary and genealogist who married Mary Clara Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Edmund Lechmere, 2nd Baronet.  Bound in quarter calf, with paper covered boards. Externally, with spotting and rubbing to the boards. Woodcut bookplate of one Katherine Shirley to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound.
