Collated, complete. From Scottish teacher Alexander Adam, who states to the beginning of this volume the importance of both classical learning and general knowledge. Including, but not limited to 'Figure and Motion of the Earth', 'General Properties of Matter', 'Principles of the Newtonian Philosophy', 'Ancient Divisions of Italy', 'History of the Roman Republic' and 'Fabulous History of Greece&apos. This edition with a geographical index, containing the Latin names of the principal countries, cities, rivers, and mountains mentioned in the Greek and Roman classics; with the modern names subjoined. Rebacked in full calf, with later spine and renewed endpapers. Externally, with rubbing to the extremities and marks to the original boards. Internally, firmly bound.
