Four very scarce reports bound in one volume, exploring the political inspections proceedings in regards to science and art, factories, and poor laws in Britain during the mid-Victorian era. This volume provides insight into the state of the country in the 1850s, of particular interest in regards to the discussion on the Poor Laws, which were helping to reform the quality of living for the working and lower classes.Containing:'First Report of the Department of Science and Art', illustrated with three folding plates, one folding table, and in-text illustrations.'Reports of the Inspectors of Factories to Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Home Department, for the Half Year Ending 30th April 1854&apos.'Sixth Annual Report of the Poor Law Board, 1853', with one folding table.'Seventh Annual Report of the Commissioners for Administering the Laws for Relief of the Poor in Ireland', with three folding tables. In the original quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with marks and spots to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine, heavier to the extremities, resulting in a small amount of loss of paper. Spine is faded. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few scattered spots. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
