Volume I, Part I of the quarterly publication Edinburgh Cabinet Novels, in the publisher's original paper wraps. Previous owner's stamp and ink inscription of Robert Montgomery Conway to the front of the wraps. Edinburgh Cabinet Novels was a quarterly publication offering original short novels to the public at a cheaper price. This volume I, part I, published in July 1838, contains the short novel The Medicaster.This series is now very scarce. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Externally, sound, though sunned, with small losses to the head and tail of the backstrip. Previous owner's stamp and ink inscription to the front of the wraps. Front of the wrap to page 16 held by one cord. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with the odd spot and handling mark to the first few pages and last couple of pages.
