The first edition of this work, rarely seen on the market, held institutionally by three libraries only. Complete in two volumes. A collection of stories illustrative of Parisian society in the nineteenth century, in the original French. A work of fiction attributed to Pierre-Joseph Charrin, French poet and goguettier.Illustrated with six lovely engravings, including frontispieces, each protected by tissue guards. With half title, errata slip to the rear of vol. II. In uniform full calf bindings with decorative gilt along the extremities of the boards. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, only light rubbing to the extremities of the boards and spine. Internally, firmly bound. Minor staining marks to the fore edge of vol. I affecting only the occasional gutter, otherwise the pages are generally clean and bright with light spotting to the occasional leaf only, particularly to leaves of plates and tissue guards.
