Described by their writer as 'fragmentary, very incomplete & nothing like a revision or correction of Jamieson's work' they nonetheless provide interesting cross-references to the meanings & origins of the words alphabetically listed in this volume. To the front is a six-page prefatory note by the author & a copy of his letter to the editor of the Glasgow Herald. Size: Octavo (standard book size). 7 + 186 pages. Text is in Scots. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Endpapers browned, text block clean. Deckled outer & bottom edges (rough cut). Top edge gilt in good condition.
