WATSON GRIFFIN - Handwritten Book Dedication from Prominent Canadian Political Figure, Author and Journalist, Watson Griffin

On offer is a loose leaf handwritten book dedication from Canadian journalist, author and member of a prominent Toronto family, Watson Griffin (1860-1952). Born in Hamilton, Griffin's family, members of which fought with General Brock, had come to Canada with the United Empire Loyalists and settled in what was then Griffintown (now Smithville). Griffin was managing editor of Montreal's Family Herald and Star. He worked as special commissioner of the Canadian government to pioneer Canadian trade development with the British West Indies in 1914. He was also superintendent of the Commercial Intelligence Service of Canada, in charge of all Canadian trade commissioners from 1916-1921. He was a successful author, writing books including The Gulf of Years, Twok, Canada, the Land of Waterways and Canada, the Country of the 20th Century. This is a 5 x 7-½ inch unprinted page, cut from an unknown book, age-toned and in Good condition. ; Autograph; 5x7; 1 pages; Signed by Author. Good with no dust jacket .
