A very clean very tight copy with bright blue cloth boards, tiny mark to front, sunning to spine and no bumping to corners. Fold-out map of her travels in excellent condition at the rear. 71pp. An account of a woman traveller who in 1799 sailed from Portsmouth to Calcutta in the armed East Indiaman Charlton. The journals which were sent to her in India by her sister in Edinburgh have survived and they are reproduced here. They give an excellent account of life in the city at that time. Very Good.
