This is number 458 of a limited edition of 1500 copies, which follow the text of the eighth edition, published in 1816 which reproduces the notes made upon the margins of a copy of that editon and the fifth edtion by Hester Thrale-Piozzi. This edition has been edited by Edward G. Fletcher. Spines are sunned, leather label on Vol. I has a scratch, a couple of small white scuffs to the cover, light dust soiling to top edges, else pristine, unmarked, tight, square and clean. In a shabby slipcase (POOR). Small 4to 9" - 11" tall. lviii, 466; 486; 473 pp. Very Good+ with no dust jacket .
